For many years, the hard work provided by our staff in maintaining our facilities allowed us to get by with less than perfect amenities. While grateful for this dedication, time dictates the need for improvement. What once was fresh and new, becomes old and worn and that is the case at St. Paul. We can no longer escape the effects associated with ageing. So, parish leadership, working with PIVOT Architecture, created a master plan designed to improve our facilities so we may meet the demands of our parish and school communities. We have considered our needs for both near term and long term so we can be good stewards of our available land and resources.

Over 50-years-old, the church building needs some key upgrades designed to move it into the 21st century. The work starts with creating a larger, barrier-free entry and lobby to comfortably welcome all visitors. Complying to ADA codes in the restrooms and reconciliation room will offer assurance to anyone needing assistance. Reconfiguring some of the interior space will provide us with a room to host family meetings, funeral viewing or to serve as a bride’s room and will allow the parish to meet demands for parish functions. Finally, clergy will appreciate our plans to enlarge the sacristy and vestry.

New School Activity Building
This structure will host many functions. As the building’s heartbeat, the gymnasium will provide space for exercise/sporting events and to enjoy the performing arts. It will feature a youth-sized basketball court, with appropriate spectator seating, and four additional goals. An elevated stage allows for easy conversion to host concerts, musicals, or recitals. A new cafeteria and kitchen will provide for a convenient lunchtime. Classrooms for music, science and Spanish will provide the space needed to effectively teach those subjects. Families who enjoy our afterschool care program will appreciate knowing this new activity building will comfortably and safely host their children. With restrooms and storage space available the building will also come with the appropriate support areas.

Outside, where first impressions begin, we look to groom the landscape and upgrade the covered walkway to provide coverage for the majority its length. Additional work includes improving the drainage near the coffee shelter and relocating it to a nearby location to allow for a connected children’s play yard.
